About Me
Hi my name is Jon and I am in Peterborough I'm now 42 and have had an interest in trains since the age of 9.
I have only had the bug for the railway photography since about 2007 when I first moved over to digital i did have a 35mm SLR and was always using that beforehand but as you know it cost a small fortune to develop the pictures now with the age of digital and my Nikon D5100 developing is not a problem.
My love of photography started when I was at secondary school when I would borrow a camera for the weekend make a few rolls of Black and White film up and off I would go for the weekend then would spend the following week after school in the dark room.
My every day job is a field service engineer for a photocopier dealer in Wakefield and I am also married and have been for the last 18 years I have one son who is now 17.
My other big love is my caravan and I spend most weekends out in that if I can and I try and tie the two hobbies together if I can and if the wife lets me.
Now I hear you all ask why 31A Railway Photography well I was born in Cambridge and all my Grandparents live in Cambridge and I spent a lot of time in the school holidays spotting on Cambridge station and 31A was the old shed code for Coldhams Lane Depot as it is now.
Now I hope you enjoy what you see on here and if you do please get in touch via my Contact Page.
